Final Piece

For my final piece, I used the same technique as the illustrations in 'The Busiest Boy in Holland' and then scanned it in to Photoshop. I added a gradient to the watercolour and then changed the brightness settings to add more contrast to the colours. I also made developed the watercolour I had done. I added fineliner to create tone and detail and then coloured the title with a watercolour gradient.

Final Piece Drafting

I chose to use one of my own pictures on my final piece, as I felt it worked well with my design. I coloured it with some of the colours I might use so I could see what it would look like.

Case Study

Colour Choices

When I had decided on a final idea, I started to think about possible colour combinations I could use. I chose to try monochromatic, complementary, triadic and analogous. By trying such different ideas, I have made sure I have covered all possibilities for my final piece. I chose to do fairly dull combinations and also contrasting and bright designs.

Digital Type Choices

I chose these fonts off dafont as I felt they are possible fonts I could use on my poster. I annotated them and decided that, if I was going to use any of them, I would choose the second one or the last one as they would work well on my poster.

Drafting

Once I had sketched out possible ideas that I could use for my final piece, I chose one of these designs I liked and developed it. I chose the candle and used different composition ideas. I liked the idea of light into dark and by doing this I thought of many different ideas.
